JERUSALEM TAKES 1ST PLACE IN
DR. AMI COHEN HANNUKA TOURNAMENT - Cadet (13-15) Division

Jerusalem Cadets, winners of 2005 Ami Cohen Hannuka Tournament Even those who didn't win had a great time

In a Cadet competition with 7 teams from all of Israel, a strong Jerusalem Cadet (13-15 yr.old) team completed a 3-game sweep with a 9-2 win over Gezer at Sportek to take the Dr. Ami Cohen Memorial Hanuka Tournament.
Gezer's Ilan Susskind held back the Jerusalem offense with effective pitching in the early innings, but Jerusalem broke the game open in the 4th with key hits by Aaron Dov Goldhar, Avishai Gross and Mikey Adam.


Yehuda Weisel, Tzvi Render and Boaz Fraiman shared the pitching duties during the 3 games, allowing only 4 runs over 15 innings. They helped their team at the plate as well: Render with a grand slam against Kfar Saba-Zofit, Weisel with 5 RBI's, and Fraiman reaching base in 11 out of 12 plate appearances.


The IAB-Baseball opens its 2006 league season in March for ages 6 to adult.
