Sums up a very close and well played
game |

met for the championship. David Tover pitched five innings for Hashmonaim.
Ascoreless game in the first inning as the Jerusalem defense behind Elya
kept it tight. Jerusalem scored first in the second on heads up base running
by Chili and Saul Schulman. Hashmonaim countered in the bottom and took
the lead in the third. In the fourth and fifth Yehuda Vecht struck out
five of the seven batters he faced throwing out the sixth at first to
keep Jerusalem in the game. In the top of the sixth Jerusalem tied the
game, Daniel Offman who got on on a base hit worked his way to third and
then stole home. With one out in the bottom of the sixth, David Tover

fielder) got a base hit and on the attempt to catch him at third Jerusalem
lost the ball and he scored to end the game. David struck out twelve Jerusalem
baters, Elya and Yehuda combined to strike out ten Hashmonaim batters

by each team.
