IBL Tryouts Held in Israel

Tryouts for the new Israeli professional baseball league, IBL, were held at the Yarkon Sports Complex at the Baptist Village in November 2006. The tryouts were held by the Israel Baseball League with the cooperation of the IAB. Dan Duquette, former GM of the Boston Redsox ran the tryouts with the help of IAB coaches who tested over 70 participants as to their baseball skills. Twelve players were selected to participate in the league.

No more tryouts are being planned, but Larry Baras, CEO of the Israel Baseball League, will take another look at the players who participate in the IAB spring league. Dan Duquette is expected to make another visit during the spring and they are likely to select several more players based on their play in the spring league.

The IAB senior league will begin the end of March. Anyone who is interested in joining is welcome to register on line or send an email with your contact information to isbaseba@017.net.il
