Yavne is one of the oldest towns in Israel and has a long list of conquerers in its history, the Philistines, tribe of Judah, Greeks, the Maccabees, the Romans, Byzanteens, Arabs, Crusaders, Mamluks and Turks. But now Yavne has been invaded by a new conquerer armed with bats and balls. The 'natives' welcomed this conquerer with open arms. Ater receiving the blessings of the City Sports Director Shaul David, Marlene Bachar called in the invading army to start a baseball team. She recruited the IAB president, Haim Katz to be their coach, and the local press was quick to pick up on the story publishing two full page articles.

The team is for ages 8-12 and practices Fridays at 13:30 at Park Hasharon.
