IAB Holds 3'rd Annual Tel Aviv 'Peace' Clinic
Eighty Arab and Jewish children escaped the day to day pressures of life in Israel to spend a day playing baseball. An event run by the Israel Association of Baseball with the assistance of International Sports Properties, hosted two classes, one from the Achva school in Jaffa, and the other from the Nature School in Tel Aviv. The children spent the early part of the day learning various baseball skills, throwing, catching and hitting, and concluded with a game. For most of the children it was their first experience to meet and interact with their neighbors of different culture. The setting of a baseball clinic, a game new to most of the children, gave them the opportunity to meet and learn a new sport together. The Israel Association of Baseball and the two schools will follow up with this initiative by forming a Tel Aviv Jewish-Arab baseball team which will participate in the league.
